International Student & Scholar Check-In
Mandatory Check-In Requirement
Federal regulation requires that every international student with F-1 or J-1 status and all scholars complete a check-in with the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) upon arrival at Wayne State.
This is to collect necessary documents and information and to verify your immigration status.
It is important to note that failure to complete the check-in process will result in the termination of your F-1 or J-1 status.
What You Will Need
To complete the New International Student & Scholar Worksheet you will need:
- Address where you will be living while in the US
- Home address in your home country
- Passport
- Visa
- Wayne State I-20 or DS-2019 (For F-1 and J-1 Statuses)
- Most Recent I-94
- Travel History
- Previous institution informaiton, if you are transferring your SEVIS record to Wayne State
