New International Student Check-In
Three Step Process
The new student check-in process consistes of three steps:
- Complete the New Student Worksheet
- Attend an Immigration 101 Session
- Submit a Student Responsibility Checklist
1. New Student Worksheet
The new student worksheet is used to collect update to date information and documents from you.
This is informaiton used to update your SEVIS record and verify your immigration status.
To complete the worksheet you will need the following:
- Address where you will be living while in the US
- Home address in your home country
- Passport
- Visa
- Wayne State I-20 or DS-2019
- Most Recent I-94
- Travel History
- Previous institution informaiton, if you are transferring your SEVIS record to Wayne State
Note: You will need electronic copies of your documents so you can upload them.
2. Immigration 101
Immigration 101 is a session where you are introduced to the Office of International Students & Scholars and given an overview of the immigration requirements and regulations that govern your stay in the US as an international student or scholar.

This checklist includes important information and responsibilities you need to understand while at WSU.
