All international students at Wayne State are required to have health insurance. As a COMMUTING Canadian, you are offered the option of opting out of the mandatory CHP coverage by presenting proof of your coverage in the Ontario Health Insurance Program (OHIP). However, the Ontario Ministry of Health states: If you have a valid Ontario Health Card, you are entitled to certain benefits when outside of Canada. But, because coverage for out-of-country health care services is limited, it is recommended you purchase the current WSU international student insurance."
